Short Description: Teaches beginning reloaders the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to safely reload metallic cartridges.

More Details: This course is eight hours in length and is conducted in a classroom. Each student is taught reloading safety; centerfire cartridge components; using the reloading manual and reloading data; equipment; and the metallic cartridge reloading process. Students will receive the NRA Guide to Reloading handbook, the Basic Reloading Student Exam (open book), a course completion certificate, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, a Basic Firearm Training Program brochure and a Course Evaluation form.

Summary:  The class starts from what happens when you fire a shot to how to assemble a cartridge.  I’ll go over the components, safe handling of all components, tools involved (optional, necessary and recommended), and types of presses.  You’ll go through setting up a hornady and dillon progressive press to assemble a cartridge, and I’ll give my perspective of both since they both have advantages and disadvantages.

Since this a fairly intensive class, with hands-on training, I prefer to keep the class size small.  Contact us today to schedule a class.  If you’d prefer, the class can be conducted at your home with your equipment.  If I host the class, I demonstrate a handpress, single-stage press, Hornady L-N-L AP, and Dillon 650 press.
