I’ve decided to try to start a weekly post. The weekly post will present a good guy with a gun story, and since there are opposing views by people that think we need more gun control, I figured I’d also start publishing the weekly stats from the city with the strictest gun control laws in the country, Chicago. Theoretically, its near impossible to own a firearm in Chicago, but being the fair and balanced person I am, I figured what the heck, lets check those stats.
According to the Chicago Police department week 44 year-to-date shooting incidents is a mere 2,482, but hey that’s an improvement over last years 3,078.
This weeks good guy with a gun is about a Lake Highlands gentleman who shot an intruder during an attempted home invasion robbery in the wee hours of the morning. The criminal apparently broke down the homeowners door around 5am and was quickly sent packing when the homeowner shot him. The criminal was later apprehended at the hospital after he sought treatment.
